Rich Blaha has a broad research background in wildlife, habitat studies, and GIS analysis and mapping. He has conducted a wide array of avian studies including radar investigations to detect and enumerate migrating birds near proposed energy developments and similar studies to detect Marbled Murrelets in forested areas. Beside the above, his field skills include aerial surveys for raptors, surveys for nesting waterfowl, and botanical surveys. Finally, Rich applies his GIS skills to a number of ABR programs including habitat mapping, watershed assessments, and aquatic resource inventories. In his free time, he raises cattle and plants trees on his farm in Oregon’s wine country.
