Brian Cooper manages the ABR Oregon office and
leads our bird-studies program in the Pacific Northwest.
His experience includes bird collision assessment
studies near airports, antenna fields, wind energy
facilities, communication towers, and powerlines.
He was a key player in the development of radar
techniques to monitor populations of threatened
seabirds (i.e., Marbled Murrelet, Hawaiian Petrel,
and Newell’s Shearwater) and to study nocturnal
bird and bat migration. Brian is an Elective Member of the American Ornithological Union.
