Cris is ABR’s lead ecologist on bat studies and is helping to expand ABR’s strong existing program of diurnal and nocturnal bird and bat migration research. Cris has worked with bats on a variety of projects across the country, including conducting acoustical and mist-net surveys, and using radiotelemetry. With over 10 years of experience managing projects and participating in field work, Cris brings valuable expertise to examine developing bat issues. He received his Ph.D. in forestry and natural resources from the University of Georgia in Athens. His dissertation is on the seasonal patterns of bat activity and habitat use on an intensively-managed southern pine landscape with forested corridors. Cris received his B.S. in geology from Texas A&M University and his M.S. in biology from Texas State University.
