Jena Lemke leads the Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences program in ABR’s Oregon office and provides expertise in fisheries and aquatic ecology. Jena manages field surveys and investigations of biological, physical, and chemical conditions in streams and rivers across the Pacific Northwest. While at ABR, she has led numerous surveys of salmonids, physical habitat, water quality, and fish passage barriers in northwest streams and rivers, and she is familiar with a number of standardized methods and protocols for collecting such information. Her duties include project design, protocol development, securing scientific permits, data collection and analysis, report writing, and project management. Prior to joining ABR, Jena studied the behavioral ecology of juvenile flatfish at the Alaska Fisheries Science Center’s Fisheries Behavioral Ecology Lab as a Oregon State University research assistant. Jena has over 5 years of fisheries experience and has had the opportunity to apply her skills as a research biologist in riverine, estuarine, lake, and nearshore environments.
