Bat biology, Radar/collision studies, avian behavior studies
Nathan Schwab brings expertise in acoustical monitoring, mist-netting, and telemetry of bats to ABR’s strong existing program of diurnal and nocturnal avian studies (including night-vision optics) at proposed wind turbine sites. In addition to conducting radar surveys, he will be examining developing bat issues. Nathan received his masters from the University of Montana, and among other accomplishments, co-authored the Bat Conservation Plan for the State of Montana. His thesis research focused on determining characteristics of roost trees for bats in recently burned forest to provide management guidelines in post-fire forests.
