Emily is an ecologist broadly interested in plant community dynamics and in the environmental gradients that structure community composition and species diversity. She earned her M.S. degree from the University of Alaska Fairbanks, where she studied the influence of aquatic vegetation on thaw dynamics within Arctic thermokarst ponds. Since 2016, she has worked on vegetation inventory and monitoring projects throughout Alaska.
