Manh Choh Aquatics and Wildlife Surveys

ABR compiled existing data and collected new data on wildlife and fish occurrence and habitat use to support the NEPA and permitting processes for the Manh Choh Project in the Tetlin Hills in Interior Alaska. The wildlife resources assessed includes those bird and mammal species known to be of concern to federal and state management agencies and those known to be used for subsistence by local stakeholders, including residents in the nearby Native village of Tetlin. The wildlife field work included nesting raptor and breeding bird (point-count) surveys. Data on mammal use of the project area was derived from existing data and the local knowledge of Tetlin residents. Fish sampling was conducted in streams and waters not previously sampled to fill data gaps in the project area and vicinity.
