We are thrilled to announce the addition of another top-tier wildlife biologist to our environmental consulting team. Dr. Rebecca McGuire has joined ABR’s Fairbanks office as a senior scientist focused on avian ecology. Dr. McGuire comes to us from the Wildlife Conservation Society where she spent the past eight years leading avian studies for the Arctic Beringia Program, with projects in Russia, Guatemala, and the USA. She has published papers on the movements, population trends, and reproductive ecology of eiders and shorebirds breeding on the North Slope, among many other topics. She has extensive experience managing research activities and conducting on-the-ground field research in challenging conditions. She also knows well how to navigate chow lines and spike rooms, invaluable skills she learned working in Kuparuk and Prudhoe Bay. As a lifelong Alaskan, she has strong and respectful relationships with the many stakeholders involved in natural resource management, across the North Slope and Alaska. The team at ABR is excited to welcome Dr. McGuire, and we look forward to many successful projects conducted under her leadership.
Thanks to the hiring committee for making such an excellent choice, and welcome Rebecca!
