A multidisciplinary team, led by Sue Ives, provided comprehensive environmental support for a proposed bike path project connecting the communities of Klawock and Craig on Prince of Wales Island, Alaska. The team’s contributions spanned several key areas of environmental concerns.
Rebecca McGuire prepared a detailed bird species list for the project area, provided expertise on compliance with the Migratory Bird Treaty Act and the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act, and prepared a Biological Assessment for the Section 7 consultation process under the Endangered Species Act.
In the field, Sue Ives and Nora Fried conducted an on-site Bald Eagle nest survey to assess potential impacts on breeding eagles. During the same field effort, Sue and Nora also carried out a wetland field survey and prepared a delineation report to inform design and permitting considerations.
Together, these efforts ensured that environmental concerns were thoroughly evaluated and addressed during the project’s planning phase.
