ABR's Ecological Land Survey (ELS) program is proud to announce two new program co-leads, expanding our ELS capabilities and improving efficiency. Dr. Gerald (JJ) Frost, one of our top vegetation specialists, will team with geographer and remote sensing expert Matt Macander to better leverage ABR's vegetation survey, remote sensing, and mapping capabilities. Our ELS program has worked across Alaska since the mid-1990s, creating integrated terrain unit and wildlife habitat maps that are used by both industry and regulators. The new co-leadership allows the ELS program to map at a fine scale when needed for permitting and to use machine-learning tools to map large areas at a broad scale for planning purposes.
